Application: EHS Endorsement for congresses & symposia

EHS aims to identify and promote high-quality congresses, meetings, and symposia within abdominal wall repair and hernia surgery across Europe.

The European Hernia Society (EHS) generally supports any educational event that contributes to advancing hernia knowledge or skills, ultimately benefitting patients. When considering applications for endorsement, the EHS assesses alignment with our principles and values, including the diversity of organisers and faculty, the promotion of good practice, and the level of direct industry involvement and product neutrality.

EHS endorsement focuses specifically on congresses, meetings, and symposia relevant to hernia and abdominal wall repair (AWR) surgeons. Applications are evaluated according to criteria such as educational relevance, scientific accuracy, and overall learning quality.

To strengthen your application for EHS endorsement

EHS is committed to endorsing high-quality educational events that set strong standards in hernia and abdominal wall surgery education and, over time, contribute to improved patient care and patient safety.

Applications are strongest—and more likely to achieve endorsement—when they clearly demonstrate:

  • A well-defined educational purpose and relevance to the intended audience
(e.g. clear learning objectives, defined level of training, and clinical focus)

  • Educational formats that go beyond lectures
(e.g. hands-on training, skills labs, workshops, case-based discussions, or small-group teaching)

  • Faculty composition that supports both excellence and development
(e.g. involvement of recognised experts alongside local faculty, mentoring, or succession planning)

  • A clear approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement
(e.g. structured delegate feedback or post-course evaluation forms)

  • Appropriate accreditation and alignment with recognised educational standards
    (e.g. CME/EACCME where applicable)

  • Complete submission of supporting documentation
(e.g. detailed programme, accreditation documents, educational or pre-course materials)

Thank you! Your submission has been received successfully.
