The European Hernia Society has the distinct pleasure of announcing the Monothematic Conference 2026, dedicated to Complex Hernia Repair, which will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, on November 6, 2026.
As abdominal wall surgery continues to evolve toward increasingly sophisticated reconstructive strategies, the management of complex hernias remains among the greatest technical and scientific challenges in modern surgery. Successful treatment requires not only advanced operative expertise, but also comprehensive understanding of surgical anatomy, physiology, biomaterials, perioperative optimization, and long-term functional outcomes.
This conference is conceived as a high-level academic forum bringing together internationally renowned experts, innovators, and dedicated abdominal wall surgeons to critically examine the contemporary principles and future directions of complex hernia surgery.
The scientific program will focus on:
- advanced abdominal wall reconstruction,
- complex incisional and recurrent hernias,
