The EHS invite you the 2-day Advanced MIS Cadaveric Hiatal Hernia Course in Braga, Portugal, 18-19 March 2025.

We are delighted to invite you to this Advanced EHS Hiatal Hernia Course, a comprehensive programme designed to deepen your understanding and refine your surgical skills in the treatment of hiatal hernias.

This course combines essential theoretical knowledge with advanced hands-on cadaveric practice, ensuring participants gain both insight and practical experience under expert guidance. The course will cover…

  • Applied Anatomy: Understanding anatomical relationships in clinical surgery.
  • Clinical Evaluation: From patient symptoms to proper investigation, covering both basic and atypical presentations of reflux and hiatal hernia.
  • Physiology and Motility: Highlighting the role of physiological and motility assessments in practice, including the peculiarities of gastro-oesophageal reflux.
  • Surgical Indications and Techniques: Learn the classification of hiatal hernias, surgical indications, and approaches, along with a focus on challenging reoperations.
  • Case-Based Learning: Gain valuable insights through demonstrational videos of surgical techniques and outcomes.

The hands-on training will offer participants the opportunity to practise and perfect advanced techniques on cadaveric specimens, including:

  1. Strategic trocar placement
  2. Isolation of muscular crura and distal oesophagus
  3. Release of short gastric vessels
  4. Closing the hiatus
  5. Nissen fundoplication
  6. Revisional surgery: Removal of fundoplication and oesophagomyotomy
  7. Collis gastroplasty
  8. Toupet fundoplication
  9. Crural reinforcement using falciform ligament
  10. Mesh reinforcement techniques

This structured, high-level training will equip participants with the confidence and expertise to tackle both primary and revisional hiatal hernia surgeries.

Price and registration

2-day course fee: 1275 EUR (excluding VAT)

Cancellation terms

Cancellation of registration must be notified in writing to CAP Partner at registration@cap-partner.eu. Cancellations postmarked before and on the date indicated below will be refunded 50% of the registration fee. After that date, registration fees are non-refundable.

Cancellation deadline: 9 February 2025.

If the course is cancelled due to other unforeseen events beyond the control of the organisers, the registration fee will be refunded after the deduction of expenses incurred by the course.
