Improving Language Accessibility in the Hernia Patient Support Group

Many international users of the Hernia Patient Support Group often speak their own  1st language as well as English to a very high level, and often also additional  languages, and as such these patients use the group site with ease.

We are however in the process of looking at how we can help patients who do not speak English and may for this reason be having difficulties in  accessing the group.

We would like to make our group as  accessible as possible to all who would like to use it  and that includes trying to eliminate any language barriers.

We already have a chat group facility in place dedicated to each country in which we can speak with patients from all the countries involved and use a translate function such as google translate to do so, if needed.

We are very keen to gain feedback on how we can continue to support all our members using all our various languages and how we can improve this as we aim to make our group as user friendly as possible for everyone who needs to access it.

We are already working on some solutions to minimize these difficulties, but if you have any feedback or ideas for how we could improve our communications please send us your suggestions. You can do so by contacting Jackie Bullock, Chair of the EHS Patient Advosory Committee, via email, jackiebullock620@gmail.com
