On November 7 and 8, 2024, the Baltic Hernia Days took place in Gdańsk (Poland).
This unique event of its kind in the Baltic Sea Region attracted nearly 600 herniology enthusiasts from all over the world! The attendance was truly impressive. Congress was organised by prof. Maciej Śmietański and Dr. Mateusz Zamkowski and was under full auspices of EHS.
For two days, we were able to enrich our knowledge by listening to extraordinary lectures by the world’s greatest stars in hernia surgery. There was space for interesting discussions and practical comments.
There were also the cadaver workshops, which took place on the eve of the congress in Warsaw and enabled 18 participants to acquire practical skills under the watchful eye of experts.
Then, the first ever Baltic Hernia Train set off from Warsaw to Gdańsk!
The joint journey was an amazing opportunity to exchange thoughts and experiences. In addition to delicious snacks, the travelers were also treated to a unique “hernia beer”.
Numerous scientific events were accompanied by impressive cultural events: a welcome meeting in the extraordinary place of Montownia Foodhall and a ceremonial Gala Dinner with the accompaniment of Downtown Brass Band!
Words of satisfaction and declarations of willingness to participate in subsequent editions were heard from everywhere.
Well … who knows? 😉
