Describe a day at work as a surgeon in your country:
Wake up at 6 am, go for a morning run and have a V60 coffee with my boyfriend. At 7h45 am we see the patients who are hospitalized, check for mails and other problems. At 8 am we start our first procedures, mostly general or bariatric surgery and in the afternoon robotic abdominal wall surgeries. This would be the perfect day, but off course we also see patients at the consultation 2 days a week!
What is your favourite AWR procedure/hernia surgery?
Diastasis repair and Robotic TAPP.
Who inspired you to become a hernia enthusiast/surgeon?
Filip Muysoms, who was my mentor and proctor, and who is one of the most inspiring surgeons for his work, ideas, acronyms, creative and cultural capabilities. He is an inspiring, enthusiastic and warm surgeon, with fantastic work on the repair of diastasis in young women with a preperitoneal approach.

EHS Congress in 2023, 2024, 2025.
Which made the biggest impression on you?
EHS 2025 in Paris with several female hernia surgeons as speakers such as Ramia, Vedra, Mette and many more with interesting talks. That truly inspired me.
How can the EHS help you in the future?
More courses for young surgeons.
What is your dream for the future of hernia surgery?
To provide good-quality and reimbursed robotic diastasis repairs for young women post pregnancy in Belgium.
