I was very kindly welcomed at the Reims University Hospital Center (CHU-Reims), in the French city of Reims, during the month of October 2024. Dr. Yohann Renard and his team provided me with brilliant discussions about preoperative care, the best surgical technique choice, and postoperative complications management. The service’s experience in treating complex abdominal pathologies provided me with important insights for implementing progressive pneumoperitoneum and botulinum toxin in my service in Brazil. In addition, it was also possible to learn a lot about the approach and treatment of chronic pain. Furthermore, I take with me the great friends I have made and whom I will certainly have the pleasure of meeting again during my surgical career.
