1. What made you choose abdominal wall surgery?

Abdominal Wall Surgery is an art of combining detailed knowledge of anatomy, commitment to education and continuous improving of technical skills. I have always found it fascinating how, as surgeons, we can affect the quality of life of our patients by understanding their problems, becoming better, thorough planning and going an extra mile to reconstruct the functionality of abdominal wall. There is no better and more rewarding surgical subspeciality.

2. What are your ambitions and goals to serve the EHS Board?

Is to share the knowledge, passion and love for abdominal wall surgery, as well as making the #herniafamily bigger and stronger.

3. Where do you get your motivation and inspiration in life?

I get my motivation and inspiration from other like-minded and driven people, from long discussions, traveling and life-long learning.

4. What are the biggest challenges in the abdominal wall surgery right now?

The biggest challenge must be surgical knowledge dissemination. We have so many great surgeons and experts and even more amazing techniques that can be helpful when used cautiously and properly. We need to create a common educational plan that could help surgeons around the world to find the necessary educational tools, learn necessary skills and help networking in order to bring the best care to their patients and improve the outcomes for all hernia surgeries, every time, everywhere!

5. What is your hidden talent?

I listen.
