Applications should provide:

  • Application letter describing the importance of the research proposal.
  • Detailed study description (max 2000 words).
  • Registration in a trial register before start of the study (ClinicalTrials.gov or similar) where applicable.
  • Short curriculum vitae of the principal investigator who MUST be a member of the EHS.
  • Description of the study team including their membership of the EHS.
  • Detailed description of what the 5000 € will be spent on in the conduct of the study.


The grant will be transferred in 3 installments when milestones have been reached:

  • 40% at the start of the study.
  • 30% after last patient inclusion or end of experiments in animal/ in vitro study.
  • 30% at submission of manuscript.


Publication:

  • Any publication MUST acknowledge that the study was supported by a research grant from the EHS.


Applications should be submitted to the EHS within the given deadline.

All applications will be evaluated by the EHS Advisory Committee of Science. It is possible that the final selection of awardees will be made after short online interviews of the shortlisted projects. All applicants will be notified of the final decision by May in the year of the submission of application. In addition, the awardees will be announced at the General Assembly during the annual EHS congress.

The final decision for approval of EHS research grant funding will be made by the EHS Board. In addition to the quality of the science, research projects will more likely receive funding if they satisfy the following criteria.

  • Evidence of diversity in the research team
  • Topics focusing on areas for future research highlighted in recent EHS guidelines
  • Written publication plan in the submission form to submit research protocol and/or research findings to the official Journal of the EHS, JAWS.
