Update from the EHS 2024 Congress President

As the EHS 2024 Congress approaches, Congress President Barbora East gives you an update on its organization and program highlights. Don’t forget to submit your abstract and book it on your agenda! See you in Prague…...

Dear Hernia Friends!

As the countdown to EHS Prague 2024 event continues, we are thrilled to announce that the abstract submission system is now officially open! The excitement is palpable, and it’s time to kickstart your preparations. If you require a visa application letter, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Given the high volume of applications at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, early planning is advisable to ensure a smooth process.

Now, let’s delve into the realm of abstracts. Following extensive brainstorming, we’ve curated a list of unconventional yet captivating topics for the program. We believe in breaking away from the conventional and injecting fresh perspectives into our discussions. After all, who wouldn’t appreciate a departure from the ordinary?

The program is ingeniously structured into three pillars, eliminating the dilemma of choosing between sessions. Select your primary focus, lean back, and relish the intellectually stimulating experience.

For those seeking insights into the latest advancements in the treatment of abdominal wall hernias, we have meticulously designed sessions to save you from endless reading and YouTube streaming. If your interests lie in the intricate details of disaster scenarios, preventative measures, or the basics of plastic surgery, fret not – we have a plethora of offerings tailored just for you. But that’s not all. We’ve carved out space for discussions on out-of-the-box topics such as AI, comprehensive insights into biofilms, autoimmunity, sustainability, diversity, and much more.

If you happen to be a gynecological, urological, OG, HPB, colorectal, or any other surgeon with an AW interest or simply want to learn how to never have to call your Hernia Friend again, this meeting is a must-attend. We’ll delve into preventive, parastomal, prehab, and non-operative approaches, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of varied surgical interests.

In addition to standard lectures and posters, we’re introducing engaging elements like panel discussions, scientific battles, an idea hub and a FameLab-style competition for those daring enough to deliver their talk sans slides!
